Administration of the Act

The Corporate Affairs Commission is responsible to the Minister for the administration of the Act. (s424) Officers of CBS perform the functions and powers of the Commission.

Registers and inspection
CBS must maintain the register of incorporated co-operatives and such other registers as CBS thinks fit. These are available for inspection on payment of the prescribed fee. (s425, 427)


Lodgement of documents
A document to be lodged with CBS must contain all information required by the Act or regulations and be accompanied by the prescribed fee (if any). Otherwise, it is not taken to be lodged. (s429)

A document may be lodged by facsimile or electronic transmission. CBS may require the original to be lodged within a specified time. (s430)
