When buying a gift voucher always check closely the terms and conditions of use and sale, including:
- the value of the voucher
- the expiry date, and
- any restrictions on its use.
When given a gift voucher, there are a few things you should remember.
- Keep the voucher somewhere safe. If you lose your voucher, the store is under no obligation to replace it.
- Use the voucher as soon as possible. The store does not have to honour it once expired.
- Use the full value of the voucher as the store does not have to give you change. Some stores may offer another voucher to make up the difference.
- If a store stops trading or is sold and you haven't used your voucher, you may not be able to redeem it.
