Researching your family

The Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Office will issue certificates, but does not conduct family tree searches. There is no access restriction on records that are open access.

Birth Certificates

Open access to birth records that are 75 years or older.

Death Certificates

Open access to death records that are 25 years or older.

Marriage Certificates

Open access to marriage records that are 60 years or older.

Change of Names

Certificates Open access to change of names records that are 75 years or older.

All records from our office date back to1842, except for Change of Name records which date back to 1896.

If you do not know the date of an event, we will conduct a ten year search for the normal cost of a certificate.

No Record Results

Please be aware that if no record is found for your request, a 'No Record Certificate' is issued for the dates searched. No refund is available as the fee covers the searches conducted of the Registers.
